Life can be full of obstacles. Usually we are able to navigate them well and move on. Other times, however, we can get caught up in them, knocked off course, and stuck. It is in these times that therapy can be especially helpful in adjusting our thinking, learning new skills, and managing intense emotions. The gaining of insight is powerful and often is the first step to creating lasting change. My ideal client is anyone who is ready for change; anyone ready for the hard and immensely rewarding work of therapy. You don’t have to remain stuck living a life that does not bring you meaning and purpose.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and strengths based. Each of us is unique and have different beliefs, needs, and expectations that need to be dealt with. I have great respect for anyone engaging in therapy and I work with each person to facilitate a therapeutic alliance in order to create a safe environment for the challenging task of therapy to take place.
Asking for help can be hard. Patterns created during childhood can negatively impact our beliefs, perceptions, and relationships as adults. Where we come from is important, but it does not define us. Many of our greatest strengths are born during our darkest times and hardships. I want to use those strengths to help you deal with present challenges and find joy.
